Tirunesh Beijing Hospital is built by the cooperation of Ethiopian and Chinese governments in Addis Ababa City Administration. The construction and major medical equipment and furniture costs are covered by the Chinese government and the Addis Ababa City Administration. This hospital is built and named for the commemoration of the event when Tirunesh Dibaba won double gold medals in 5000 and 10,000 meters long distance competition in 2008th Beijing Olympic. The hospital is found in Addis Ababa City Akaki Kality Sub-City Woreda 1. The hospital is giving services for the surrounding Oromia Region inhabitants and other neighboring Sub-Cities inhabitants (Nifas Silk Lafto and Bole) beyond the Akaki Kality Sub-City inhabitants. Tirunesh Bejing Hospital is opened for service after being inaugurated by his excellency Mayor Kuma Demeksa in March 5, 2012. To meet urban dwellers social, economic and political benefit and to prevail good governance pursued by the Addis Ababa Administration, the hospital is undertaking various tasks in view of meeting the identified vision, our hospital determines to contribute its part, and in view of improving and changing itself in organization and operation. To mention some of these tasks our hospital is recording various changes from the implementation view of BPR and solving problems. Accomplishing preventive tasks devising various prevention health programs according to health policy based on prevention implementing BSC. Creating public discussions Quarterly and four times a year on medical service given, to listen complements raised from people, to solve in discussions the communication gap between some performers and statutory and taking as a regular agenda in management the potential and demand non conformance problems; to ensure decisions on operations and solutions, presenting the problems beyond the hospital management to the board of the hospital, solving surfacing complements and petitions, putting tireless efforts to prevail good governance, it was able to observe positive results. It was able to prove the presence of some change beginnings as understood from the raised feedbacks in the consecutive public discussion stages. Expansion constructions are started of the support received from the city administration in order to expand services in the future, and when the construction is completed the service giving extent shall be broadened. Concerning to the hospital standard implementation the execution reached 82.3%. Experiencing high level improvement from 29% before two years. To make our hospital comfortable to users, visitors and workers we have started the implementation preparing execution plan in creating common awareness with workers preparing the plan to make hospitals clean and comfortable which is focused nationwide and in Addis Ababa. The focus directives taken for service giving and good governance operations of us above all and to fill the awareness gap created in respective stages and capacity gap different trading are been made to be given to performers and professionals different professionals and statutory and inviting professionals from out of the hospital, capacity building, anti corruption, federal ministry of health and health bureau.
